Aldridge: Don't get worked up about the Millsap... →
nbaplayoffs2009: David Aldridge says Utah is going to match, and the Jazz-Bulls-Blazers three-way trade was never a possibility: What is not going to happen is a three-way deal between Utah, Chicago and Portland that was out in the trade winds last week…Two of the three teams mentioned in that potential deal have told me, flat out, that there was never one minute’s discussion about that...

Sports Radio interview with Roy on his extension →
Much like on the court, Brandon Roy’s confidence is oozing in this interview.  The man feels like he is deserving of a max contract from the Blazers and it’s really hard to argue that at this point.  I’m a little perplexed as to why Kevin Pritchard hasn’t had the maximum value contract offer prepared for the last few months; it should be in front of Roy right now.  I understand KP is likely...

Portland Trail Blazers Season Predictions: The... →
Last season, four rookies saw substantial playing time for the Blazers: Greg Oden, Jerryd Bayless, Rudy Fernandez and Nicolas Batum. With sophomore slumps being somewhat common occurrence in the NBA, one of them is bound to stumble out of the gates this season. I agree with some of the points made in the piece. However, the Blazers are in deep trouble if Oden and Bayless fall into...

NBA free agency's biggest loser: Kevin Pritchard →
nbaplayoffs2009: Wonderboy Kevin Pritchard may be a draft genius, but Woj is unimpressed with his efforts this offseason: They need a small forward, but he refused to make a bid for the most talented one on the market – the Los Angeles Lakers’ Lamar Odom. Odom could’ve been had for the Blazers, but Pritchard has, for now, committed his money to a backup power forward. He could’ve dented the...

Portland's "toxic" offer to Paul Millsap →
nbaplayoffs2009: If Utah wants to match Portland’s four-year, $32 million offer to Paul Millsap, they’ll have to immediately pay him a $5.6M signing bonus, and $4.7M of his first-year salary. Total payout: $10.3M, which Millsap gets in one week, no matter what. Millsap’s total career earnings to date: $2.1 million. Portland-area Escalade dealers, you have been warned.

McMillan to remain with Blazers through 2010-11... →
“I’m excited that the option year on my contract has been picked up,” said McMillan. “We have a great team, first-class organization and the fan support has been incredible. I would also like to credit the coaching staff for their hard work, and we’re all looking forward to working towards our goal of bringing a championship back to the city of Portland.” ...

Frye to Sign with Phoenix →
The Suns will also sign free agent Channing Frye to a two-year deal for about $4 million, sources said. The second season is at Frye’s option. Yahoo Sports I’m glad he didn’t end up somewhere like Milwaukee. At least he’ll get to be near family.

Blazers make offer to Milsap →
The Portland Trail Blazers have offered Utah Jazz free agent Paul Millsap a four-year contract worth between $32 million and $36 million, according to league sources. The offer includes a hefty signing bonus that will make it difficult for Utah to match. The Jazz will be presented with the offer Saturday and have seven days to match because Millsap is a restricted free agent. ESPN
